The Build up to Wimbledon 2015
Wimbledon this year you will note has been moved back a week from its traditional slot in the last week of June and the first week of July, as tennis fans you know that the new dates this year is set for 29 June to 12 July. Creating a new, three-week grass-court season between the end of the French Open and the beginning of the third Grand Slam of the year.
With Wimbledon 2015 beginning Monday 29 June, every serious contender for the title will be warming up their grass-court muscles through the expanded grass-court season over the next few weeks.
It goes without saying that for Great Britain Andy Murray returns to the Aegon Championships starting:
Monday 15 June – Sunday 21 June
Known as ‘Queen’s’ after its iconic location at the Queen’s Club in west London, the Aegon Championships is perhaps the most quintessential men’s grass-court event outside of Wimbledon.
Three-time champion Andy Murray will be leading the field while Rafael Nadal returns to Queen’s for the first time since 2011.
In the same week we have the Aegon Classic, Birmingham (WTA Premier)
Another iconic British tennis location, the lawns of Edgbaston welcome even stronger fields to compete for the Maud Watson trophy since the tournament rose to Premier level. Ten of the world’s top 20 women have committed to play in 2015, including current world no. 2 Simona Halep who is set to make her debut, fellow Grand Slam winners Victoria Azarenka and Svetlana Kuznetsova and defending champion Ana Ivanovic.

Aegon Open Nottingham, Nottingham (ATP 250) – ATP World Tour Returns To Nottingham
The ATP World Tour event formerly held in Eastbourne returns to Nottingham for the first time since 2009. The Aegon Nottingham Open will be played in the week before Wimbledon.

Aegon International, Eastbourne (WTA Premier) – One of the most popular events on the WTA Tour, the Devonshire Park Eastbourne event was won 11 times by Martina Navratilova. Defending Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova heads the 2015 field along with former champions Caroline Wozniacki, Agnieszka Radwanska and Madison Keys.
In the week before The Championships, Wimbledon, British No.1 Heather Watson, US Open winner Sam Stosur and former Wimbledon finalists Eugenie Bouchard (left) and Agnieszka Radwańska will also be on display.
Watson will be completing a hat-trick of British grass court events having already entered the Aegon Open Nottingham and Aegon Classic Birmingham.
The two-time WTA Tour winner, back for a sixth time, enjoyed her best result at the event last year when she reached the semi-finals.
